Bodyshop

Hello all

Is anybody out there able to recommend a competent car bodywork expert?

My Japanese classic (if there is such a thing) is suffering some very minor corrosion, but I'd like someone to fix it properly. What I really need is someone skilled in the old fashioned art of car bodywork restoration, as opposed to accident damage repair which is what most bodyshops seem to concentrate on these days.

Any suggestions / recommendations gratefully received.

Regards

I've heard there is someone in Saxilby who specialises in restoring MGs. I presume he would be competent at bodywork repair rather than accident repair. Might be worth a call. The only thing is, I don't recall his name! Will try a 'Google' and get back!

I think the one I've heard of is John Goulding at JWG - 704445. If he can't, maybe he knows a man who can!

Thanks for that Kay

I used to live in Saxilby before moving to St Georges, so that's who I thought of too.

I actually went to get an estimate before Christmas, and left my details with him as he was fully booked at the time. Whilst I was waiting for the phone call to be "his next job", I was told by relatives in the village that he's shut down. No wonder he didn't call!

Someone told me he might be re-opening in the Burton area, but I've no details and seen no signs in the area.

Hi Kelly

Thanks for that - can't beat a personal recommendation :)

I know where thay are, so I'll drop in on them and see if they can get my Prelude back to pristine condition.
