Allotment holders had a word with me last week about local children vandalising the back of the SEC. They were seen climbing onto the roof by using an attached wall which had open bricks for decorative purposes. The only access point to the centre is at the front. The SEC cannot be accessed from the back anymore due to steel barriers being placed in a long stretch. The allotment folk heard windows being smashed at the back and when the kids were challenged after climbing down the same wall, they simply ran off to St Georges Park.
However, the same children returned later and climbed onto the roof of the bus shelter. They were challenged once again but ran back to St Georges Park area.
The two incidents were reported to the police by the allotment holders on their mobile phones. The police said that they had no resources to follow them up but after contacting the Lincolnshire County Council, the counci said that the site was due to be demolished soon for housing development, so County Hall were not bothered.
It was similar too regarding the bus shelter. PC Coaches did not know who the owners of the bus shelter were. The allotment holders noted that tiles were missing from the roof after the kids climbed onto it.
The police are not taking action over the two incidents due to what was reported back.
One allotment holder showed me what damage had been done to the windows - most of them have had stones thrown at them to smash the glass panes. Also the steel mesh to protect the building at the back had been ripped off in many places.
