The County Council have today confirmed that the Speed Reactive Sign on Long Leys Road will be in place by the end of February 2009 and will be permanent. What we don't yet know is what sort of message will be highlighted to speeding motorists. To my knowledge this will be the first permanent speed reactive sign in Lincoln City and I hope will go a long way to making Long Leys Road safer for residents.

Knowing this government the sign will be in 7 different languages but WILL NOT be able to offend anyone.

Something along the lines of: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DRIVING SLOWLY THROUGH OUR URBAN VILLAGE, HAVE A PLEASANT FORWARD JOURNEY AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO TEST YOUR BRAKES BECAUSE THERE IS AN AWFUL AMOUNT OF WATER RUNS OFF THE HILLSIDE. WATCH OUT FOR THE HORSE POOH. ONCE AGAIN MANY THANKS FOR BEING SO UNDERSTANDING.
