Road Works

Postby Lizzie Wood » Wed Aug 06, 2008 8:20 pm

Hi All,

Just to keep you informed i spoke to Karen Glynn from Persimmons on Tuesday regarding the state of the roads on Madden Close & surrounding areas, Karen assures me that in the next week the drain covers are going to be raised then Anglian Water will view the state of the drains & if all approved work should start in 3 months on all areas at the same time.

I have also reported to karen that the street lighting on Madden Close is still not working & she is going to look into it.

So hopefully now she has taken over from David Rossington who was completly useless things may start happening...Fingers Crossed !!! :D

Ask Karen if Persimmon are prepared to pay say 75% of all householders Council Tax back dated since you all moved in.

Seems a fair assessment to me.

If they refuse, get the local media interested.

I'm sure in the present climate with plenty of their new homes lying empty and unsold, they will not want too much bad publicity.

Persimmons were supposed to have dealt with the resurfacing of the roads and footpaths together with tackling the lights that were not working outside the houses they built on St Georges Park by November 2008.
It appears not so.
The kerbstones on Benbow Way leading onto the other road are in a poor state and need replacing as well.
Weeds are growing through the tempoary surfaces which were laid down too.
This has become a shocking state of affairs for those who have bought Persimmons properties on this development.
As Steve has already said it is about time residents took direct action to get this work finished.
Otherwise it may drag on for another couple of years with excuses, excuses, excuses. Residents don't want one excuse as due to the recession where money is becoming tight coming from this major building company. And one does not want another take over from another building firm as seen with Westbury Homes bought out by Persimmons while remedial and completion work is outstanding.
Are the residents concerned and bothered?
If so please do take the necessary action as Steve has suggested or residents will be left what remains which is an eyesore and which profit has become the ultierior motive at your expense!
