This is temporary for this year's Christmas Market to stop cars parking on the grass verges.
The local residents nearby made complaints last year about the parking there and the cars that were parked all along the road, and the ones which were parked blocking residents driveways. Cars were parked in all sorts of places including on the footpaths which is illegal.
After last year's fiasco, the verges were badly churned up and a few cars that got bogged down reversed back into the fencing, broke the fencing which if the horses had escaped were a danger to both trafiic and pedestrians.
Because Long Leys Road is now considered a major route into and from the city of Lincoln it was agreed to take this action.
Those vehicles found parked where they should not be, will be ticketed.
