80 people turned up for the West Common Picnic on Sunday 25th July following 3 days publicity. Most people heard about it via www.handsoffourcommon.co.uk The next picnic on the Common is Sunday 8th August 1pm at Rosebery Avenue gates. This time we have the best part of two weeks to spread the word. Perhaps we should invite the press this time with it being the day before the executive council meeting on the 9th. People are talking about bringing games and guitars as well as picnics so it could be wonderful. A great opportunity for people to share ideas and get some new community activities started. Does anyone think it would be a good idea/possible to start some kind of facebook group so that local residents can keep in touch and start/join new groups? I already have a long list of suggestions made by people at the picnic.
