Residents have been asking about the one way traffic system which is being currently used as an experiment in Lincoln.
This is the current news update and what motorists are thinking...
One-way system may not be the best way forward...

THE planning committee of Lincolnshire County Council meets on Tuesday to take a decision on whether the Claskgetgate, Corporation Street and West Parade experimental one-way scheme should be made permanent.
The Echo article (August 26) is headlined 'One way the right way, highway bosses decide'. I stress that no decision has yet been made despite the headline.
As the local councillor for part of the experimental area, and on behalf of local residents, I have put in a statement opposing the scheme becoming permanent in its current form.
The reason for my objection is that I believe the revised junction of West Parade and Beaumont Fee is causing greater difficulties for pedestrians trying to cross Beaumont Fee.
I made it clear that while I support the scheme in general I do not believe that the present scheme in its current form should continue unless a safe crossing is introduced.
The report by a principal highways officer says: "There is no doubt that the revised junction of West Parade and Beaumont Fee is causing difficulties.
"Options for dealing with this are currently being investigated with all road users in mind, and every effort will be made to implement improvements in the event of the experimental scheme becoming permanent.
"At the time of writing it is not possible to say what form these improvements will take."
To maintain public confidence it is important that more detailed information is provided about what form these improvements will take.
It is imperative that safe crossing of Beaumont Fee by pedestrians is an essential feature of the permanent scheme.
I will be making that point on Tuesday at the planning and regulation committee.

The Lincoln one-way system is a good idea but at the moment it's dangerous.
My wife works in a building right on this junction and there have been a few accidents and yes you do need another set of eyes and the traffic on that bend is on you in seconds so I think a bit more thought needs to go into this junction.
MARTIN GREENHOUGH, Lincoln.
I agree with what has been said regarding the junction at Beaumont Fee and West Parade.
As a motorist who uses it daily, it is dangerous and drivers have had near misses.
The problem is the railings which block the view of traffic coming from Beaumont Fee.
Highways at County Hall need to address this before giving the scheme the final approval.
Why must it take the death of a motorist or a pedestrian to get the situation sorted out?
Or are those in authority not bothered and will totally ignore this blind spot!
JOHN SHIPTON, West End, Lincoln.
Pedestrianise the lot, that's the hidden agenda of our planners.
No problem at junctions then, is there? Drive all the cars out of the city centre – and people of course – don't consider local traders and workers and the impact on them.
Keep making bottlenecks (narrowing Silver Street) and then compound it by this ridiculous one-way travel on Clasketgate.
If we are to suffer this scheme, and believe you me we will, the answer to joining Beaumont Fee at such a dangerous junction might be to make it one-way on to Newland from its junction with West Parade.
Then you don't have to worry about traffic coming up.
