News update on the adoption of St Georges Park estate...

Postby john shipton » Tue Aug 02, 2011 2:05 pm

Aine Mc Morrel, highways officer at Lincolnshire County Council, contacted me today regarding the adoption of the St Georges Park estate.
There is no drainage problem which Neville in a different posting mentioned. Anglian Water have given the OK.
David Wilson Homes who are responsible for the roads and footpaths on St Georges where their built properties are, have had them adopted by the county council. The roads and footpaths built by Westbury Homes, now the responsibilty of Persimmons, are still awaiting adoption by the council. There is a current maintenance contract for remedial work, given by the council to Persimmons to complete, which began ealier this year (2011). The contract is for 12 months expiring February 2012. During the course of January 2012, highways and Persimmons will be walking the area where these roads and footpaths are to be adopted by the county council. Hopefully the work outstanding will be completed by Persimmons for the roads and footpaths to be finally adopted (February 2012 onwards).
The senior officer highways officer at county council dealing with the adoption is Liz Burnley.

Wilson's are not quite all there yet as the CC guy was only round a few weeks ago spraying the footpaths/roads which he needed to get done before maintenance was up. Some months back he had tested part of the path to Higson Road with a new base to prevent cracking and he was happy enough with it to use on the remaining footpaths. that does NOT though include the steps themselves which all regular users will know have cracked tarmac towards the bottom of the estate end. If there is no action on the estate paths by the start of September I will contact Liz. The cracks are tiny but the yellow spray paint is worse!!
