Neighbourhood Watch...

Postby john shipton » Mon Aug 04, 2008 9:38 pm

This is for Rob who may be able to help and those who wish to pursue the matter...

About 41 local residents have taken an interest in taking part in the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. They are from the Albion Crescent and the surrounding area.
(I am not sure what is happening on St Georges Park where this year residents were making enquiries).
PSCO Simon King was supposed to be dealing with it, is the information that has come to light.
Residents have been trying to contact Simon and leaving messages at West Parade Police station for sometime, but to no avail.
Simon was suppose to update the St Georges web site since joining the membership with the monthly drop-in dates on certain premises on Long Leys Road. But no information has come forthwith since his first posting.
PC Rick Mosely, the beat bobby for the West End of Lincoln, joined the membership of St Georges web site to give news updates as well. I am told that Rick is the manager of city's Carholme Neighbourhood Policing Team. Nothing has been heard from him either since his first posting.
It appears that the beat bobby is concentrating on the University of Lincoln students in a bid to educate them about crime prevention on his patch by using the internet. What residents are concerned about is what is happening to Neighbourhood Watch in our Urban Village?
I would suggest that local residents contact those responsible regarding this by telephoning them direct, make their complaints, and to find out what is happening.
PC Rick Mosely, PCSO Simon King and PCSO Peter Davies are responsible for Carholme Ward and our area.
The telephone number is 01522 882222 Extension 5382.
PC Rick Mosley's mobile number is 07939 984933.
Over to you!

Isn't that an understatement, 'I'm not sure what is happening on St Georges Park'

Steve, after the postings a few weeks back Rob quickly sorted that the correct pertson send me the paperwork for Neighbourhood Watch. He is not the man for this but was in a position to help and did so. I have not opened it yet as I have some ongoing problems that are taking up an awful lot of my time. If you want to offer to read through the pack and do the necessary PM me with your address and I'll drop them in. Or anyone else that wants to make a start on this, just let me know.

PCSO Simon King has a word with me this morning about Neighbourhood Watch. He is visiting a local resident called Glen Smith who contacted him regarding the 41 residents who wish to be part of the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. The problem he had was that Glen did not leave a telephone number as a contact point and did not respond to Simon's e-mail sent. Glen may have not received this e-mail.
About the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme for St Georges Park, Simon and PC Rick Mosely are still waiting for residents to contact them.
Deborah did receive one of the packs sent from the police but due to other commitments and priorities, could not follow this through.
So if residents living on the St Georges Park area would like to become part of Neighbourhood Watch (perhaps Steve could follow this up), then I would suggest that residents make a positive response.
The Neighbourhood Watch Scheme works well in the West End of Lincoln with positive responses and results. It can work well in the Long Leys Road area too if only residents get involved and make a contribution towards the community. For vandalism , criminal behaviour, and those who like breaking the law, will not go away or be swept under the carpet.
This is part and parcel of modern day society whereby some folk are putting up their two fingers pointing towards the police and communities.
Lets make it a bit safer for all residents living on the Long Leys Road area and work together to achieve this - rather than what some people have said saying "I'm alright Jack, blow everyone else!"
Anyway, Simon is going to have a chat with Rick to update the St Georges web site on police matters, meetings and other items/projects in the pipeline.
Over to yourselves!
