Missing Cat / Street Lights

Postby James » Sun Sep 28, 2008 10:01 pm

We've been away for the weekend and have been back several hours, it's unusual not to have seen our cat my now...

I've been out for a walk looking for him during my trip I noticed that Fordham is in near darkness, Berildon has several lights out.. and the 'green' at the front is in total Darkness from both Long Leys and from The walkway from Carram.. I had a torch with me but I wouldn't want to walk through there without, it's crying out for an attack or something horrid all for the lack of a few bulbs...

Back to the cat, he's just walked in :) but the rest of my post is valid!

to add to that James must be 5/6 out on manrico
probably just the case of the forgotten village at the bottom of the hill or the lamps removed and put in storage for the new lights that are to be installed to the grave yard got to save money you know

Lights are the responsibility of the builder until the council adopts. But if no one tells them they won't know. I'm wondering if the council adopt in stages given that the drains are now getting to that stage but the rest of the estate is not.

i thought some of the estate was adopted it also does not help the poor sods at the bottom of the estate another year gone by still no road or footpath after 5 years and now no lights to see what hole there going to fall down
but i bet they have to pay full council tax
but one good thing to come out of the graveyard for the locals will be the council can put all the spare soil from the1st years graves onto the road turning them into green lanes
what does the LRAA KNOW ABOUT THIS MATTER AS THERE HAD BEEN SOME POSITVE POSTINGS ABOUT MAKING GOOD THE ROADS /PATHS OVER A YEAR A EAR A GO

More recently than that. Lizzie posted this on August 6, so work on the roads, if the drains were approved, should start before the end of the year.

Hi All,

Just to keep you informed i spoke to Karen Glynn from Persimmons on Tuesday regarding the state of the roads on Madden Close & surrounding areas, Karen assures me that in the next week the drain covers are going to be raised then Anglian Water will view the state of the drains & if all approved work should start in 3 months on all areas at the same time.

I have also reported to karen that the street lighting on Madden Close is still not working & she is going to look into it.

So hopefully now she has taken over from David Rossington who was completly useless things may start happening...Fingers Crossed !!!

This link shows a very similar situation with persimmon in Staffordshire. However their council seemed to kick up a fuss about it instead of letting persimmon take everyone for a ride.

I think our council forgot to check the tick list of things to do when a builder is granted planning permission. One of those things is I think called the section 38 agreement - get it signed. Someone may know better but my understanding is that it's a sort of bond that the council hold in case the work is not completed properly, they then have the money to do it themselves. However I thought there was supposed to be a very late signing of this either earlier this/late last year. I suspect because of the change of head offices and then ownership that the council are giving them rather more chances than they should. That said, we can hope that Lizzie's call to them happens and work is underway shortly.
