You know the top soil at the top of Manrico that at least 4 of us have had digs at, I have been accused 'technically' of theft which is I suppose correct. The pile has half gone so still a fair bit left and of course the rain has washed some and whatever was underneath is probably now dead but the man said 'you try and make a place look nice, get complaints if you use compounds and that was for the verge at the bottom that is technically Persimmons'. I don't know why it's only 'technically' Persimmons, I can't believe they would pay him to do it if they thought it wasn't theirs, and making a place look nice does not in my book involve dumping a huge mound of soil on an already seeded green and then putting topsoil over the weeds on the verges that were forgotten first time around and throwing seed over that. Knowing that the work was for Wilsons it seemed a reasonable assumption that since Wilson's was done and it'd been untouched for three weeks that a dig would not be a problem. Thing is, it's destined to be there even longer as first the Carram verge is to be killed and then topsoiled. So, three weeks gone already, killing yet to be done, dying yet to be done - how long was it to be left for? Of course I apologised but told him his boss knows of the LLRA so they could have put the word out that work was not complete but in the circumstances it just appeared to have been abandoned.
So anyway, the final verge to be done - hurrah! Odd though that Cllr Helen has made a request of Persimmons to cut it down and they did not tell her that three weeks ago (at least) there were plans to re-seed it......
