They have a site at Witham St Hughs. The site number is Lincoln 869759. You would like to think someone there could give you the relevant contact or nationally try 0845 9101011.

Actually why should the residents or indeed the LLRA have to do anything. The planners at City Hall who passed theirs' or Westburys plans for approval should be in a position of authority to threaten legal action if they fail to complete their site to an acceptable standard. There's too much passing the buck when one builder takes over another. I remember the debacle when David Wilson took over Henry Boots house building division.

Once agian a case of House Builders giving the Construction Industry a bad name.

TO ANYBODY AT CITY HALL READING THIS PLEASE DO SOMTHING
come on lincoln city council this is not the first time you have been in this mess with a contractor
you must have a bond with them if not why not and if not the shambles of the so called village just gets worse
we are living in the year 2008 for god sake sort it out because tax paying people should be given what there paying for
ie they pay for drainage can not be working with levels as they are /streetlights ect so if this is being paid for its time a refund is offered
i close with this thought for you at city hall these people dont have a cat in hells chance of fighting this to an end. you do
where are the ward councilers on this matter dont forget it nearly may !!!!!

Roads on the Persimmons/Westbury Site

Postby Andrew A » Thu Mar 20, 2008 6:49 pm

Email from Persimmons to Cllr Heath,

Dear Councillor Heath,

The meeting held with Mike Rizan was very successful and productive. Lincolnshire C C requirements were set out and agreed and are as follows:-
BENBOW WAY AND FULMEN CLOSE.

Lincs CC are to carry out core testing on the footway and carriageways asap. If the results are satisfactory then the existing kerbs are to be replaced, existing footway edgings to be replaced, ironwork lifted and final surfacing works carried out. If the test results are unsatisfactory then the existing footway and carriageway basecourse will have to be excavated and replaced.

MADDEN CLOSE AND DORRIGAN CLOSE

All footways and carriageway to be excavated down to formation and reconstructed.

I also met two contractors who are to submit quotations for the work but these cannot be finalized until the test results have been received.

We are still some way from completing the work on these sites but at least the wheels are well and truly in motion.

Well done Councillor Heath.

Why couldn't either of our Labour Councillors have done that?

Simply because the LLRA asked Helen for help as our other councillors were helping on other jobs - it wasn't political, we try to ask people on an equal basis if we feel a councillor's letter will help.

It appears that the property market is slowing down and some building companies have stopped building new homes on developments throughout the UK. What prospective buyers and home owners on developments that have been completed are experiencing, is that due to rationalisation and down sizing of regional offices, certain companies are closing a number of them down and transfering the administration elsewhere. This has been the case with Persimmons.
If home owners on St Georges Park are finding it difficult to contact Persimmons due to the work force being made redundant and managers going or posted elsewhere, perhaps now is the time for two councils to intervene and complete the work themselves and send the company the bill after completion.
Otherwise, it may take months or even years to get the outstanding work completed due to what is happening on the housing market.
TV programmes about the housing situation have been on air from last week and this week. My wife saw a programme about it this evening too.
