Landscaping St Georges

reply from Simon Cousins:
I’ve spoken to colleagues in the Grounds Maintenance Service who have advised that the developers have offered the sites for adoption and have agreed the necessary payments for maintenance.
There has been discussion between them and Nicola Collins in terms of the level of landscaping which has been undertaken on the site. During her maternity leave this has been taken up by another member of staff and I will keep you informed of progress.
I would hope this is a matter which can now be resolved fairly quickly.

Specifics mentioned were Manrico green, shop planting, replacement of dead trees and weed growth between pavement and road which is getting particularly unsightly on Berrilldon.

I also asked about the fencing at the top of Manrico that the council were reluctant to maintain. It's removal was mentioned in a Newsletter that went to everyone and no one came back to say leave it. A final decision has not been made though so whether it stays or goes is not known yet though I did suggest that if it were removed that some tidying of the first few feet into it's natural state may be required. Suggestions were previously made of a a natural type nature trail through the land but again this has not been progressed as yet. There are community budgets available though...
