I thought I would cheer myself up this evening after having to deal with customers and their problems at work. I read the Lincolnshire Echo both its hard copy and on their web site which is

I decided to make some comments this afternoon regarding the proposed closure of the two tourist information centres in Lincoln, which I did.
Having just looked at the web site again to see if anyone else has made any comments, I found this amusing piece below. Goeffrey Brooking was one of the Conservative candidates who stood for the Carholme Ward a couple of years ago. He made so many promises if he was elected or not, especially concerning our Urban Village. He has never been seen since and now lives in Milton, Hampshire. However, he still writes and makes comments using Lincoln as an address.

Just to let you know that Father Christmas been given his orders not to visit Lincoln on Christmas Eve as Darren Grice has proposed to cancel the festivities for Christmas.
Geoffrey Brooking has sent him an e-mail in support of what the leader intends to do - he claims that Christmas is costing the tax payer too much and as he does not believe in Santa Claus and what Christmas brings, that to save money, anything to do with Christmas should be cancelled.
Mr Brooking has also indicated that Santa's reindeer team should be sold for meat to help feed the poor, together with Santa's grotto which has no community value.
Mr Grice in his correspondence has infomed the city of York that the Christmas Market has been shelved for Lincoln and has told the mayor of York he can have it there because Lincoln no longer can afford it.
There is a PS added to his letter to Santa which reads - don't bother to visit me as I am not visiting you because I have been a naughty boy. He also said that anyway, you don't come chimneys as my house has central heating and I don't believe in you.
