Grass cutting

On walking through the estate - are some people unable to afford a lawn mower - or are they just plain lazy?

we heard a complaint from a lady so you aren't alone. Her problem was that she did not know the landlord's name and she did not want to approach the tenants. I used to live next door to a rented property and not only did the landlord not provide a lawnmower but nor did he provide a shed to keep it in and there was no garage either. There are some good neighbours about who just run the mower straight across, others stop dead on the line. It's an awkward one though as there is that possibility of confrontation that most folk would rather avoid. There are some lovely front gardens about though eh?!

You know the overgrown verge on Carram Way? The one with the waist high thistles? Well, its not adopted, which means it must belong to Persimmons. I've asked them to cut it because it looks a disgrace, and I've had a couple of complaints. Lets see if they do it....

Good luck Helen.

They don't seem too keen to complete the roads & drives in Dorrigan Close so I don't hold our much hope for a bit of grass cutting.

What I find difficult is the fact that if a sub contractor had failed to complete their work, the main contractor would withold payments & retention until the work was completed to his satisfaction.

Isn't it time the local authorities had the same powers to fine these building contractors for not carrying out their duties. After all, the incomplete work isn't the same as the Plans, showing lovely landscaped areas, that were submitted initially in order to achieve planning approval!!

Some landlords are obviously unaware their agents are not checking properties (including gardens) properly. We once paid our agents 17%, but suspect they didn't keep up the inspections after a while - once the tenant has settled in and the monthly payments are paid on time. If gardens are that neglected, it makes you wonder what inside is like.

I agree there are some overgrown areas........ its a shame. If it was joined onto my house/boundries id cut it, then give the house owner a bill for said work

As for my plot of over grown grass, ive been on holiday. Its on one of my many 'to do' lists! just dont walk down my way until after the weekend!!!
