Drivers that use Long Leys Road...

Postby john shipton » Mon Jul 09, 2007 1:45 pm

Last Friday (6th July), contractors put down a new road surface with chippings on a piece of stretch of road on Long Leys Road. This is outside Mawers Farm and Curtis's
There are signs of 20 mph while it takes a few days to settle.
There have been drivers who have ignored these signs, who do not slow down and are doing well over 30 mph in the process.
This was and has to be seen as total madness and obviously these drivers do not care about anyone else but themselves.
Chippings have gone all over the place due to doing such speed. Some have hit windows of on coming cars and vehicles plus stationary cars parked outside Oakleigh Terrace. But thank God!, there have been no smashed car windows...so far!

I can't wait for the day that cameras - yes multiple - are located along this road. I am fed up of idiots speeding along it and the ones who hitch a ride in my boot when I am trying to keep to the limit!

Whinge over

This is one of the things that really gets my goat, Speed limits are there for a reason! I was out with my dog early the other morning, the sun was just coming up, so it was that light where it is quite hard to see, when some twonk decided to nearly run us iver when we were trying to cross the road doing around 60mph! I welcome the spped trappers when they sit outside my house catching one after another after another.
