This should interest some residents...

A former farmer called Mike Hodgson has been busy since retiring and has done a host of voluntary work keeping him very busy since.
He has been a founder of several aviation groups three of which are the Lincolnshire Aviation Society, the Lincolnshire Lancaster Association, and the Thorpe Camp Preservation Group based at remains of RAF Woodhall Spa where Wing Commander Guy Gibson flew his last mission from and never returned.
Mike has been co author of several books which has made his name known in aviation heritage. Some of these books are "Wings over Lincolnshire", "The Airfields of Lincolnshire Since 1912", and "RNAS and RAF Cranwell".
From his writings and research he regularly contributes to Flypast magazine and other aviation and military journals.
This has opened the door for him to speak on BBC Radio LIncolnshire on topic matters.
After a visit to the Western Front in 1978, he later organised and guided his first Battlefield Tour in 1981 and due to public demand and becoming a freelance tour guide has led him to continue battlefield tours and airfield tours in the Bomber County of Lincolnshire.
He has become a consultant for the North Kesteven District Council Aviation Trail, now established and well known throughout the UK. He is also a consultant for the Airfield Trail in the area of West Lindsey District Council and is the author of its Airfield Trail guide book and leaflet.
To top this off, Mike has time to be a member of his local Parish Council which he has served for over 30 years.
He has been invited to kick start the new aviation lecture season at the Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre on Wednseday, 25th March, beginning at 7.30pm.
It is a talk not to be missed as his topic will be "D-Day, Deceiving the Enemy, Deception Operations in support of Operation Overlord."
Admission is £4.00 for visitors which includes refreshments but it is free to members of the Friends of Metheringham Airfield and 106 Squadron.
For further details please telephone FOMA on 01526 378604.
