Postby john shipton » Wed Nov 12, 2008 7:22 pm

The police are appealing for information regarding a man and his dog believed to be living on the Long Leys Road area.
This is regarding incidents that have happened on the West Common. He and his dog use the Mitchell Drive entrance to the common.
The description of the dog given by members of the public is that it is a cross bred between a Jack Russell/Spaniel. The dog has a black head and off whitish body. It answers to the commands of the owner who lets it off the lead to roam on the common.
The description of the owner is male wearing a wax jacket, is about 5 foot 10 inches in height and has a small moustache.
The incident number given by the Lincolnshire Police is 170/11/11
If anyone can help with the police and their enquires please contact them ASAP.

You can't put out frighteners like this. "...incidents that have happened on the West Common". That's far too vague! I'm there most days. Any times? What sort of incidents? If we see him do we run? Do we let the kids walk there on their own? Do we ask him where he lives? Do we tell him to contact his local police station?

In other words what's it about and what sort of information are the police appealing for?!!

I suggest you ring and quote the incident number and find out what has happened as people have done.
Information was given to me hence what was written.
Part of the problem was that horse riders were being hassled by the dog with the owner ignoring the dangers of the riders being thrown from their horses and stampeding. The same dog has been seen having a go at the legs of horses that graze on the Common.
The owner is not bothered and likes to swear at folk when challenged. The owner just ignores everything which his dog does. The dog answers to the voice of the owner.
WERA are now trying to track this guy and the dog concerned before something serious happens.
But then who cares today - as with the dog mess appearing on the footpaths in our area!
