Anyone know the name of the cycleway/footpath

Postby JT » Sun Nov 23, 2008 3:35 pm

Hi
Does anyone know the name of the cycleway/footpath which goes through the centre of the "village green" on Long Leys Road to Carram Way? All 5 lights have been off for a long period now and it's difficult to describe it without a name.

Hi John

Sorry i don't but perhaps when you call you could ask for an e mail address that way you could mark it on a map and e mail it to them?

I woudn't bother with a map, just tell them to check the whole of St Georges Park.

At the last count there was at least a dozen not working.

Thery could check them in the daytime by overriding them, then at the same time mark them with identity numbers for future reference.

OR IS THAT TOO LOGICAL.

Don't tell me they will need checking in the dark so they can pay someone time and half. Then pay someone again to fix them in daylight and then pay someone again after adoption when it's time for marking.

Maybe we could agree a way of identifying the ones that don't work by wrapping some tape/ ribbon round them and when the person comes to fix them they will know which ones are needing attention. I'm sure that this coupled with the description of the location, i.e outside number 20 Whatever street ,would do the job. Just a thought..

Hi I've just reported most of the lights which aren't working to Bridget at David Wilson Homes. I told them which houses they were outside as a clue to the lights involved. Last time I did this i came home to see them working on the wrong light. However, let's see.

I've also reported the same list to the City engineers who will have to give their report before the roads are adopted. Apparently the six months are almost up and they can then be adopted. Once the roads are adopted then the stgreet lights will be numbered.

I haven't yet reported the ones belonging to Persimmon Homes - these included the ones I was considering at the beginning of this thread. Does anyone know who to contact at Persimmon Homes?

I believe Sue Wilcox is the customer care co-ordinator for Persimmon. Her email is sue.wilcox@persimmonhomes.com.

Thanks for the info. I've contacted Sue Wilcox and she has replied to say she's passed my message on to their Technical Department who will deal with it.

I reported the 5 lights on that pathway and the two on Madden Close.

I've just seen people in a van with a cherry picker going round fixing lights on Berilldon Drive (Monday) so some good has come of asking. That's david Wilson.

I'm not sure about the Persimmon Homes yet.
