Hi all

I guess there must be quite a few houses on St Georges which were fitted out with the same brass door handles as ours - scroll style, beaded edge.

We've been through and swapped everything to nickel finish, so if anyone needs any spares (or indeed, the entire box full), get in touch. There's three external doors worth and about twenty internal doors worth. All handles, striker plates, hinges, latches, etc. are there, and the letterbox, but not the locks.

Condition varies according to how well used the door was - some parts virtually as new, others distinctly not!

Gary, my friend wanted to do this but could not find any steel/nickel handles that would cover the place the brass ones were i.e. all new fittings were millimetres narrower meaning the doors would need re painting/touching up (the white underneath was completley different!) Have you found some or have you had to touch up?

Hi Deb.

Didn't find anything quite wide enough, although these are close - maybe 1mm to make good on each side.

On the doors that we'd repainted (handles off) in the last few years, they were fine as the paint hadn't aged significantly, but on the doors which still had original paint there's a hideous mismatch, so we're generally repainting them as we go.
