BUS TIMETABLE

Postby deb » Mon May 26, 2008 5:27 pm

I have replaced the bus timetable in the shelter with highlighted and laminted sheets more times than I care to count within the last month. Every time they are ripped off and I have no idea where they end up - not in the bin and not on the ground. If anyone needs a copy or knows of anyone who may do - newbies etc, please let me know and I'll copy the details. I may try again in a few months but will certainly remove all the staples for now!

Deb

I see you put up a notice asking why the timetable kept being removed, but it only seemed to last a couple of days.

I don't suppose you got an answer to any of the questions you asked on it did you?

Yes, I thought there was an outside chance of a response even if it was a rude one but no, that too was ripped down and no sign of it blowing in the wind anywhere. In my annoyance I even slapped a 'this is NOT the hospital carpark' on a car on Carram Way when I saw a young lady park up and make her way over to reception, forcing the bus, no doubt for the xxxth time, to wait as the road continued as a one-way. Moment of irritation passed and am now my usual happy self!

I notice outside other bus stops, for example Burton Road, they have an automated read out display telling you the expected time of the next bus.

Is that dedicated to a particular company?

An automated read out display sounds awfully expensive for 10 buses a day - a cardboard clock with moveable hands would surely be sufficient - and more in keeping with the wendy house shelter

I would think that's Stagecoach Steve. The council don't even provide 'Bus Stop' for PC coaches but they will provide the post...!PC Coaches resisted all requests for a sign to put on one though.
The cemetery has entrance space on the plans for a horse box so probably enough for a small bus to manoeuvre.

Hi,

Does anyone know where we can get a bustimetable from online? I have seen one in the bus shelter on Long Leys Road but wasn't sure what times it stopped at Carram Way.

Thank you

Ah, yes, a new stop. Previously it was officialy only at the bus shelter.

I haven't found one on-line but the driver carries them so next time you catch one just ask for a copy

Ok Thanks,

Do you know whether it drops off anywhere in town or near the County Hospital?

Thank you

In town it drops at The Barbican (opp railway station) and on the way home it picks up either there or at the bus stop on the railway side of the street.
For the hospital there are two options, nothing is direct as far as I know. Here to Ermine and catch the hospital bus or here to town and catch the hospital bus. the driver may have time tables for that too so you can judge the best option for you.
Welcome new resident by the way!
