Is it just me or does people's lack of common sense or inconsideration when parking drive you mad? Why do people insist on parking their cars on corners and junctions? The green driving instructor car that parks on a bend and a junction on Carram Way and the Glittery black BMW which parks across from the junction where you have to turn right onto Benbow Way drive me mad! It seems the BMW even has its own drive which sits empty whilst the car blocks the road and the public grass.

Could people think about how their parking impacts on people's safety? Both drivers and pedestrians! It shouldn't be an obstacle course to get to your house!

take care on carram rd at about 6.30 every day you are greated with a full size single decker bus backing on to carram off longleys to go back into town so you not only have to get passed all the cars making a long blind bend you are greeted with the back end of a bus and a driver who can not see what he is doing
does this happen all day or just first thing

Add to the mix the increasing number of 7.5Tonne+ lorries delivering to a local resident on a regular basis and we've got our own assult course..

Perhaps the seven and a half ton lorries are delivering hardcore to residents who feel that their gardens need a face lift after seeing TV programmes about improving their properties, especially the back garden and concrete over what was grass and have things which are ornimental to look at from the kitchen window.
Oh boy! - that will increase excess water surface levels just like what is happening in the London area where concreting has become the modern trend for back gardens.

Yes, unfortunately when gravel, chippings and the like are laid, usually the advice is to lay a membrane down first. This kills off weeds but doesn't help drainage.

I was wondering why cant the glitter car be asked to park on their drive as thet are lucky enough to have not only a double drive but also a double garage. The council (or someone) cut the grass out the front and had to cut around the car, it must be killing the grass and will make it look dreadful once the car is moved. Is it not parked illegally due to it being so near to the turn onto Manrico Drive? (As I do not drive myself I am unsure of this)

Unfortunately, until we are 'adopted' which could be two years away, our highways are not subject to the law (there is a policeman who uses the site so may be able to confirm this) i.e. you cannot be done for speeding, parking too close to a bend, leaving your engine running while you nip back in your house, not wearing a safety belt etc etc. I bet there'll be a lovely track mark in what could have been a whole street of nice verges. The other thing about parking is that we do not own the street outside our house and though I may have slapped a 'this is NOT the hospital car park' in a fit of exasperation on a car on the one way street that is Carram, legally they can park there same as the residents. It is, as people are saying, 'consideration' and if folk haven't got it they probably won't get it. We can glower though!
