***Sneak In Burglaries***

Postby Simon King-PCSO 2205 » Sun May 04, 2008 1:53 pm

Over the past two weeks there have been numerous break in's and attempt break in's around the Carholme area including one property on Long Leys Road. Please ensure that whenever you leave your property all doors and windows are securely locked and every measure that can be taken to make your property as secure as possible is taken!

Patrols have been stepped up in the area and we are urging you to report anything suspicious that you may see to the police immediately

Thank You

Do these occur in the hours of darkness or in broad daylight?

During 2007 there were attemps to break in through back doors and patio doors on our estate. Two attempts succeeded but others failed due to intruders being disturbed.
In the West End, WERA members reported that burglaries have been deliberate and succeeded, hence Simon, Pete and Rick being involved.
I would suggest that residents be vigilant on the Long Leys Road area and report anything suspicious to the Police.
Such folk case the joint first to test the situation.
Hopefully, residents have the community spirit to help one another in these matters!

Now that the weather is getting warmer, please ensure that you do not leave windows and doors open or unlocked. If you are at home or out in your rear garden, make sure that your front door is locked.

Throughout the city burglaries are reported where the offender has entered through an insecure door, grab what they want and leave within seconds, leaving little or nothing of evidential value for the police to work on.

If you see anything suspicious, please do not hesitate to call the police on 01522 882222. If it is an emergency, or a possible offence in progress, then call 999.

Thank you
